PTSD Recovery Coaching

I spent the first 20 years of my career doing training and coaching. When I add recall of what happened to me as a child, I went looking for resources, 15 years ago, there very little written on childhood trauma and PTSD.

I went to therapy, but knew I needed something more. Most leaders don’t want someone to tell them what to do, or in fact need someone to tell them what to do. They want someone to draw along side them. Coaching is essentially empowering others in their journey to find out what they believe they are called to do.

A coach is someone who draws along side a leader and helps equip them for the road ahead. Some people think that getting coaching or asking for coaching is a sign of failure. Actually, this could not be further from the truth. It is a desire for greater focus on the things that are important or impeding your development and growth.

Incompetent people rarely, if ever, ask or desire or allow themselves to be coached. Competent people desire to be excellent and want to grow…these are often the people who desire to be coached.
