When you are just starting out in your career or in business, you can be sure of a few fundamental truths:
- You’re not nearly as good as you think you are, and you certainly are not as important as you know you are;
- You’re wrong, you do have an attitude problem, and yes it really does need to be adjusted;
- Most of what you learned at school or read in books is out of date.
Clear a path for the people you work for and eventually you’ll make a path for yourself.
If you want to be a shining star, learn not to stand in your boss’s light.
